Jan 2018 The gulf youth chamber music project launch
I am launching a new project :The Gulf Youth Chamber Music Society!
I always admired Chamber Music and, in last summer 2017, I attended "Chamber Week" @ Peabody Institute - Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland U.S.A. and it was such a great experience to play music with like minded fellow musicians from all over the world. It was certainly different from being part of orchestra for sure. As I started discussing my youth chamber music society idea with my parents, friends, & teachers after the summer 2017, I have been given enormous support and interest from almost everyone that I talk to. Even big organizations showed their genuine interest. As a result, with all these huge encouragement I would like to set up as an official club in U.A.E.. My goals for this society are to promote Classical Music Education, to provide a forum for student musicians to meet and form ensembles, to arrange concerts, and most of all to create a place where all student musicians from different schools & different countries can connect!! First Key Initiative will move with me but this society will be my gift to all the student musicians in the Gulf region. I would hope that it will continue its existence for a long time after I leave for college in 2020!! |

Farewell to our first violin students March 20th 2018
It is truly a sad occasion that my 2 original violin students who were selected from the start of First Key Initiative 2014 are leaving Dubai and loving back to India. They have been with me for last 4 years and they have been working really hard without any support from their family. I wish they could continue to study violin but they all told me that it would be impossible to continue because there is no music school or teacher available... I hope that someone maybe just like me who happen to love music so much will start sharing his/her passion for music with these students. I sincerely hope that it will happen and we can meet someday. All the best Amna & Jijin!!
In addition, we are also sending 3 more students (Alonza, Hina, & Angelrose) to India as well. So out of 7, 5 students will be all moving back to India. It is very unfortunate but it means we can do another audition and select new students!!
